WORLD CHAMPION CANOE RACER – LISA CARRINGTON (Te Aitanga ā Māhaki, Ngāti Porou) AND WORLD CHAMPION NETBALL COACH – NOELINE TAURUA (Ngāpuhi) WERE CROWNED DUAL WINNERS OF THE SUPREME AWARD ‘ RONGOMARAEROA’ at the 29th ALBIE PRYOR MEMORIAL MĀORI SPORTS PERSON OF THE YEAR AWARD.

Hosted by Te Tohu Taakaro o Aotearoa Charitable Trust at the Vodafone Events Centre in Auckland last night (Saturday 30 November).

A total of six inductees were inducted to the Māori Sports Hall of Fame – League stars, Ruben Wiki, Kevin & Howie Tamati, basketball supremo Judge John MacDonald, former Black Ferns Captain Dr Farah Palmer and dual international Louisa Wall.

National indigenous broadcaster, Māori Television, is screening 1 ½hr delayed highlights on Sunday 01 December from 7.30 pm.
