Education

Yvonne recently completed her MBA (Distinction) through the University of Waikato (Tainui Endowment College) and completed her major research project on leadership and organisational culture at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.

Employment

Yvonne is currently serving as Associate Kaihautu for national delivery at Te Wananga o Aotearoa.
Previous to this role she was Regional Manager for Auckland/Northland.

Her 20 year career in educational leadership and management in the tertiary sector has also included;
• Vice President at Unitec Institute of Technology, Waitakere.
• Head of Māori Studies and Māori Education Director, Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

Community Appointments

Yvonne is committed to community engagement and to the transformative realities that are possible through kaupapa Māori teaching and learning experiences. Her teaching and research interests are in Māori leadership and tertiary education.

Summary

Yvonne has three children: Taniera, Eruini and Waimarama and is Nan to five mokopuna: Te Ohaaki, Mokorua, Te Raukawa, Rakeiiriora and TeTaeawatea all of whom fondly call her ‘Mum’.
