Cameron was presented with a gift of a korowai by Te Tohu Taakaro o Aotearoa in recognition of his outstanding feats as a Paralympian.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to receive this korowai. Especially to receive it in front of a community I have been part of for so long and has been such a special part of my life. The Māori Sports Awards have been amazing at sharing the awesome accomplishments of all sportspeople with Māori heritage, they’ve been especially welcoming to me and looking back now it has been nearly 20 years of support.”
