4th in the World at the ‘World Secondary Schools Sevens Championships’ held at Bell Park Pakuranga, Auckland on the 14 & 15 December 2018.


Maori had to surrender 6X players to the NZ Condor sevens team, and Maori players were spread across Samoa, Nuie, Cook Islands and Australia – shows the depth of our talent under the “E Tu Toa” programme.


The Maori team were hosted the week leading up to the tournament at Mataatua Marae in Mangere, concluding in a visit to the Tari o Te Tohu Taakaro o Aotearoa (Maori Sports Awards’ – and shown through a visual library of Maori sporting greats from 1883 to the present day, for a bit of added inspiration.
