Introduction / kupu whakataki
This annual event hosted since 1996 by Te Tohu Taakaro o Aotearoa Charitable Trust with the principle objective – to foster pride and sports participation for young Maori attending Kura Kaupapa or primary schools with Bilingual Units and the promotion of healthy lifestyles for nga Tamariki and the wider community.
Kaupapa / Programme
With the approval of the Ironmaori organisers (Te Timatanga Ararau Trust) it will be based on their Kaupapa – Swim, Bike and Run.
8-9 YEARS:
25m swim at Papatoetoe Indoor Pools – walk to transition station at Papatoetoe Recreation ground for the run.
10-11 YEARS:
25m swim at Papatoetoe Indoor Pools – walk to transition station at Papatoetoe Recreation ground for the run.
12-13 YEARS:
50m swim at Papatoetoe Indoor Pools – walk to transition station at Papatoetoe Recreation ground for the bike and run.
